Tampa and Orlando are the nearest (international) airports. From Europe however there are only a limit number of companies who fly directly to those cities. TUI (www.tuifly.nl/) and Delta Airlines (www.delta.com) offer direct flights from Amsterdam to Orlando. AirFrance-KLM (www.klm.com) flies directly from Paris to Orlando or Miami. Although the drive from Miami to Inverness is about 300 miles (5 hours drive) this might be too lengthy after a long flight. However, if you have some time to spent you can stay overnight, for instance in Miami Beach, and drive up the next day. The most scenic drive is through the Everglades driving West. Have a stop at the Indian reservation post and take a thrilling airboat ride “hunting” for alligators. Proceed further West to the white beaches of the West coast and enjoy the ride thru the enormous citrus plantations (South of Orlando). If time permits pay a visit to the famous Dali museum in St. Petersburg (directly South of Tampa). It is really worthwhile to consider to spent this extra day. Many airlines, such as Delta Airlines (www.delta.com) and United Airlines (www.united.com)  provide direct flights to Orlando and Tampa from inside the USA and Canada.

From Orlando as well as from Tampa travel time by car to Inverness is about one hour and 15 minutes. From Orlando the fastest Route runs via the Turnpike. Although this is a toll road (about $7) the maximum speed is 70 mph (about 120 km/h) which saves a lot of time. From Tampa the best route is via the Veterans Express Way (also called the Suncoast). This is also a toll road (about $ 8) but the maximum speed here also is 70 mph.

The route from Tampa runs via the Suncoast, CR 50A and US 41 and from Orlando via the Turnpike and US 44, both joining in Inverness. Follow the US 41 through Inverness in the direction of Hernando. The main entrance to the Lakeside is on the right hand side marked with a beautiful welcome sign.

Lakeside entreeFrom the reception you can drive through the park to the villa or alternatively you can follow US41 for about 2 miles in the direction of Hernando and then take the right exit on E. van Ness Road .

Reception: North Florida Avenue 130 (US41). This building is located on the left of the road (in the direction of Hernando) at about half a mile before the entrance of the Lakeside G&C. Openening times on working days are from 09:00 till 17:00 hours. Here you can pick up the house key. Outside this time frame the house key can be found in a lockbox next to the front door.
